BOYCOTT THE HOME DEPOT CORPORATION
WARNING - DON'T SHOP AT THE HOME DEPOT STORES - THEY ARE NOT SAFE!
The purpose of this website is to improve safety for everyone. Our intentions are to get the Home Depot USA, Inc to take responsibility for this sites' documented conditions of negligence and to get them to comply with all federal, state, and local safety and fire regulations. Home Depot has neglected its responsibilities as a corporation - prioritizing profit over the safety of its customers, employees and vendors. We seek to expose the contradiction between Home Depot U.S.A. corporate governance policies regarding safety, and their practiced unethical behavior that puts peoples' lives at risk.
We have documented a ten year pattern by the Home Depot Corporation showing lack of duty of care by allowing violations of fire, building, OSHA, and ADA (laws, codes and regulations).
- A- They show blocked, locked and/or obstructed emergency fire exits.
- B- Blocks and/or obstructs emergency fire exits access, and egress pathways to available exits.
- C- Blocks and/or obstructs exits discharge pathways.
- D- Blocks and alters fire lanes and fire lane gates needed by first responders to gain ingress and egress to their property and facilities.
- E- Blocks and/or obstructs fire sprinkler system valves, fire hydrants, and pathways to these controls needed to fight a fire at their facilities.
Home Depot has been directly contacted regarding many of these violations; however, they have chosen to turn a blind eye to the situation.
Home Depot would prefer to put human lives at risk - utilizing asset protection as their first line of safety in their stores as a means of prioritizing theft prevention, rather than taking responsibility as a corporation to provide a better business management practice of safety first.
Man-made disasters, such as the Triangle Fire (100 years ago) and the 9/11 terrorist attacks (10 years ago), have cost many innocent American lives and caused the population at large to be more vigilant in protecting the safety and lives of citizens.
We can all learn from history and minimize the risk of future man-made disasters. Home Depot U.S.A has elected to focus on increasing its stock price at the expense of increasing a risk for disaster. Increasing shareholder value and valuing safety are not mutually exclusive; however, Home Depot executives have clearly decided that they do not care enough to work towards BOTH goals.
This website is dedicated to all of the people who lost their lives in man-made disasters. We must be proactive and responsive when we see safety violations – to honor these men and women so that they did not die in vein.
Should an earthquake, fire, flood or other event occur while in Home Depot, the result would be horrific. This is a call to action – to end the negligent safety practices at Home Depot.
